For the month of October, we will be taking you on a safari, in search of the wildest (and cutest) animals!
Rielly turned 2 this year and is completely obsessed with wild animals, so mommy Trisha decided to go with a safari “Two Wild” theme in Gold & Marble. She shares her party planning inspiration with us:
The birthday party was very small and intimate, with just close family and friends. I was very specific in terms of the look and feel of the cake, so I decided on a Modern Safari cake, with a marble effect with gold splatter and gold animals toppers. I chose a lemon cake flavour with a white chocolate cake filling. The food and drinks were off an a la carte menu. The venue already had a mass amount of green and gold with the light fixtures being gold in colour and all the green soft palm trees around the venue, so this fitted in perfectly with the Safari theme. A long bamboo table was used with a Zebra stripe runner. We also had the fireplace working on the day as the event was in the heart of Winter, even though the day turned out to be warm and beautiful. Included in the décor was a half-moon Balloon arch that stretched over the table. Along with this, we had included a laser cut white number “TWO” on tree trucks with mosses and green leaves. The table was finished with gold animals and safari elements along with the animals within glass balls. Some of Rielly’s stuffed animals were used as part of the décor. The colour combinations used in the floral arrangements for the tables included burnt orange, by bringing in the pin cushions, off-white natural flowers and a touch of bushveld colours – Autumn Colours, yellow, orange, greys and green, with some brown branch elements.
